Uni-ball Air Rollerball Pen – 0.7 mm – Blue
The revolutionary nib of the Air, unlike conventional rollerballs, is pressure-sensitive, meaning that it gives a writing experience and differentiating line width similar to that of a fountain pen. The metal ball of the nib is in an acetal plastic rather than the standard metal surround. It can allow a smoother flow of ink around the ball and an increased flow as further pressure is applied. The nib is wrapped with a resin protective layer to prevent damage to the nib with excessive force.
The 0.7mm ball delivers a line width of between 0.35mm and 0.55mm. It is dependent on pressure. The rollerball features Uni’s high quality “Super Ink”, which is not only water and light-resistant but also “Tamper-Resistant”. It means that the ink cannot wash away using chemicals and ways used to modify documents fraudulently.
Two thicknesses can show from one rollerball, depending on the strength and angle. Using light pressure and writing upright can write thin lines. Tilting the pen tip and writing hard can write thick lines.
The cap design protects the nib. There is also a cap inside the pen cap to prevent damage to the pen tip and dry ink.
